In the Highway Code it states that any animals travelling in a moving vehicle
must be suitably restrained, which according to the research, over a third of
drivers are unaware of.
Distracted driving carries a fine of £100 on the spot fine and three penalty points,
this can increase to a £5,000 and nine penalty points, if your case goes to court.
If you do have an accident caused by your becoming distracted by your pet while
driving you could end up invalidating your insurance, therefore not receiving a payout
and be slapped with hefty fines.
Terry Savill and Ian Blackburn-Elliot who originally set up Dog Watch have now retired and we would like to wish them well and thank them for all they did to make Dog Watch a success
